Transforming Clay into Timeless Treasures
White Stoneware Pieces Blending Functionality With Artistry
White Stoneware Pieces Blending Functionality With Artistry
The process begins at the potter's wheel. Each piece is carefully crafted using white stoneware. The first firing at 1700º (the bisque) is done once the clay has dried adequately. This makes the piece more durable for handling, and prepares the surface for drawing with an underglaze pencil and absorbing the stains Tina paints with. Once the surface artwork is completed the piece is dunked into the overglaze and prepared for the final firing. The high temperature firing (2380º) imparts durability and also elevates the pottery to a level of quality beyond that achievable at lower temperatures. This pottery is dishwasher safe and lead free. Microwaving is ok for heating up your mug of coffee or tea, but otherwise discouraged, especially for plates and pieces with large surface areas which make them vulnerable to thermal shock.
We craft unique ceramics that are more than just utilitarian. Each piece is created with care and attention to detail, making them not just aesthetically pleasing, but communicate a love of flora, fauna, a bit of whimsy and the beauty of the natural world.
Communicating with our customers is as important as the pottery we create. We look forward to speaking with you, are interested in your preferences and creating pottery that resonates with you. We will even paint images of your pets on any piece of your choice!
